Potato Mermaid 2026

I’m still going with Mermay even though it’s June, shh!

I have been making a Potato Mermaid every year now for Mermay, I think I look forward to it the most of anything else!

This year I made it for the prompt ‘Icon’, so I channeled some fashion diva vibes and gave her some very extra sunglasses and a totally useless seashell handbag with a seaweed handle and a pearl! The strap of the sunglasses is made from precious stones in a red/coral range (I’m pretty sure it’s Carnelian but it’s been in my collection forever so not positive) and the sunglasses are see-through so you can still see her eyes!

Sunglasses and ‘handbag’ are removeable and you can sit the sunglasses up on her head as well (pictured).

Handmade by me from polymer clay, hand painted, one of a kind!

Measures about 3.5 inches tall including her head sprout, about 6 inches long.
